  • Politics Is Like Hiring A Hitman
    by Scott Woods inPolitical on2020-08-13

For me, politics is like hiring a hitman. I have values and things I care about. I care enough about them to at least bother voting for 5 minutes every year for one issue or another. And because I care at least that much, I vote for people who align with the ability to realize the things I care about.

I believe our vote is the punctuation of our voice. Without that resounding exclamation mark, I believe our voices are just incoherent noise.

  • Living in a Black No-Man's Land
by Roger Madison Jr. inOur Community on2019-10-28

There are many narratives that define the Black experience in America in this 2nd decade of the 21st century. Our striving over the centuries of our sojourn in this nation is a tapestry of every human experience -- oppression, enslavement, forced assimilation, dehumanization, exclusion, segregation, isolation, struggle, perseverance, achievement, excellence, celebration, mourning, despair, progress, setbacks, lynching, assassination, genocide, terror, self-hatred, low esteem, pride,...

  • Fighting Racism
by Scott Woods inOur Community on2018-10-25

I had a boss who was racist. Not an outright bigot, of course; her toolbox was more subtle than most. We bumped heads a lot over inconsequential things. She frequently couldn’t keep my name out her mouth. Lot of gaslighting. You know…2018 style. I tried a lot of ways to combat or navigate her issues. None of them worked, and that’s saying a lot because I’m really good at fighting racism. But at the end of the day – every day – she was my boss, I had to deal with her, and that was that. Finally I...

Hmmm Interesting

Here’s an interesting article from the Associated Press 05/31/07

“WASHINGTON – The same industrial chemical that led to a massive pet food recall was used in animal feed ingredients made by a U.S. company, health officials said Wednesday.

The announcement by the Food and Drug Administration was the first indication that a U.S. company had used Melamine in animal feed. Agency officials said that and related components were used to bind feed for cattle, sheep and goats, or fish and shrimp. Previously, the problem of Melamine in animal feed was thought to be contained to China, where it was added to wheat gluten.

Melamine is not approved as an additive for the feed. Its industrial uses include as a binding agent and flame retardant. U.S. officials said the use of melamine in animal feed posed no threat to human health.

The FDA alerted feed manufacturers that ingredients containing melamine and related components were found in products made by Tembec BTLSR Inc. of Toledo, Ohio, and used by Uniscope Inc. of Johnstown, Colo.

Tembec makes two products Aquabond and Aqua-Tec2, which it distributes for Uniscope. The products are used in fish feed. Uniscope also makes a product for livestock feed called Xtra-bond, and it uses ingredients produced by Tembec. The FDA advised feed manufacturers and others not to use the products and to contact the two manufacturers.”

Now, Let me get this straight, I can eat animals that ingested glue and flame retardant as part of their daily diet in conjunction with the antibiotics and growth hormones that are allowed by the FDA and it poses no health threat to me. Although, it was in some pet food and the pet food had to be recalled because it posed a threat to pets but posed no threat to the livestock or me?

I would like to know how many years of study did they put into that conclusion and can they be absolutely sure that over the long term this isn’t why we have such a high rise in Cancers and many other degenerative diseases and illnesses.

This is why it is so important to eat organic as much as possible and to do periodic internal body cleansing. I do a cellular cleanse twice a month and supplement with high grade nutrition daily because even the soil that organic food is grown on is deficient of vital nutrients.

In the Old Testament it says that every seventh year of planting nothing should be grown on that soil for a year. There is a reason for that. Its so the soil isn’t robbed of it’s nutritional value and made deficient.

Knowledge is Power and your health is your most valuable asset, without it everything is at risk
