First let me thank LTH reader Nashieqa Washington for bringing this story to my attention. In what sounds like the plot of a bad science fiction movie where the Nazi's took over the world from 1929 to 1974 North Carolina alone LEGALLY sterilized over 7600 people. 60% of whom were poor black women. These women went in for abortions or were victims of rape and in many cases had no idea what had been done to them until they tried to have children. These women were victims of so called Eugenics Laws that were popular at the time. Gee I wonder why this is not in any history books?
