On November 26, 1883, Sojourner Truth Died In Battle Creek, Michigan.
She Was Born A Slave In Ulster, New York And Given The Name Isabella Baumfree. She Freed Herself And Became A Self-Styled Minister And Dynamic Orator.
In 1843 She began Traveling Around The Country Delivering Strong Messages Agaisnt Slavery And For Women's Rights. She Adopted The Name Sojourner Truth Based On What She Said Was God's Purpose For Her To "Travel Up And Down The Land And Declare Truth To People."
In 1852 She Earned Respect And A Place In History After Giving Her Famous "Ain't I A Woman" Speech At The Second National Women's Sufferage Convention In Akron, Ohio.
