R&B Legend/Gospel Singer, Al Green Was Born On April 13, 1946, In Forest City, Arkansas But Grew Up In Grand Rapids, Michigan.

At The Age Of Nine He Formed A Gospel Group (The Green Brothers), That Toured And Performed Throughout The South During The 1950's.

During His Teens, Green Formed An R&B Group With His High School Classmates. They Called Themselves, Al Green & The Creations.

In 1969, Green Teamed Up With Record Producer, Willie Mitchell In Texas. He Signed With The Memphis-Based, Hi Records.

From That Point On, Al Green Became One Of The Most Influential Soul Singers In Music History, While Dominating The Record Charts Throughout The 1970's.

During 1972 And 1973, He Placed Six Consecutive Top 10 Singles On The Record Charts: "Let's Stay Together," "Look What You Done For Me," "I'm Still In Love With You," "You Ought To Be With Me," "Call Me" And "Here I Am (Come And Take Me)."

Al Green Was The Top Male R&B Singer Of The '70's And Has Sold More Than 20 Million Records. He Created A Sound That Was Uniquely His, Wavering Between Falsetto And Tenor, Green Delivered Songs With The "Gritty" Feel Of The Blues And The And "Down-Home" Emotion Of Gospel.

During The 1980's And 1990's Green Performed Inspirational Music While Pastoring The Church He Founded.

Today He Occasionally Performs His Hits From The 1970's, But Remains Primarily A Gospel Singer.

Al Green Was Inducted Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame In 1995.
