Bruce George is Co-Founder of Def Poetry Jam, Founder and Co-Editor
of The Bandana Republic; "A Literary Anthology by Gang Members
and Their Affiliates”

Leila Steinberg, a contributor to the anthology, "The Bandana
Republic", is the the creative force who recognized the depth
and value of Tupac Shakur's powerful poetic presence. She was
his teacher and his mentor. Tupac referred to Leila as the "bow"
and himself as the "arrow."

WHAT
VENDORS AND AUTHORS CAN EXPECT AT THE BLACK BOOK EXPO


There is a private Friday evening reception (June 13) for authors and exhibitors beginning at 6:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to join in the reception and there is no cost to attend. Our reception is a way for each exhibitor to introduce themselves, their books and even read poetry. Depending on the number of people present, there is a time limit and food with refreshments will be served. Souvenir booklets to all in attendance will be passed out during
the reception.
