  • Politics Is Like Hiring A Hitman
    by Scott Woods inPolitical on2020-08-13

For me, politics is like hiring a hitman. I have values and things I care about. I care enough about them to at least bother voting for 5 minutes every year for one issue or another. And because I care at least that much, I vote for people who align with the ability to realize the things I care about.

I believe our vote is the punctuation of our voice. Without that resounding exclamation mark, I believe our voices are just incoherent noise.

  • Living in a Black No-Man's Land
by Roger Madison Jr. inOur Community on2019-10-28

There are many narratives that define the Black experience in America in this 2nd decade of the 21st century. Our striving over the centuries of our sojourn in this nation is a tapestry of every human experience -- oppression, enslavement, forced assimilation, dehumanization, exclusion, segregation, isolation, struggle, perseverance, achievement, excellence, celebration, mourning, despair, progress, setbacks, lynching, assassination, genocide, terror, self-hatred, low esteem, pride,...

  • Fighting Racism
by Scott Woods inOur Community on2018-10-25

I had a boss who was racist. Not an outright bigot, of course; her toolbox was more subtle than most. We bumped heads a lot over inconsequential things. She frequently couldn’t keep my name out her mouth. Lot of gaslighting. You know…2018 style. I tried a lot of ways to combat or navigate her issues. None of them worked, and that’s saying a lot because I’m really good at fighting racism. But at the end of the day – every day – she was my boss, I had to deal with her, and that was that. Finally I...

HOW TO GET THE AVERAGE JOE TO PARTICIPATE: SILENT DOLLARS

They key to the success of SILENT DOLLARS: 2 DAYS OF RESTRAINT is UNITY. And the KEY to bringing UNITY to SILENT DOLLARS is MARKETING! If SILENT DOLLARS incorporates organized strategy in its execution, then we must also use strategy in MARKETING (selling) SILENT DOLLARS to the different classes of African Americans in the community. Every individual in the Black community has their reason(s) & or agendas to revolt. REPARATIONS are just one which many will not take the time or energy to participate because of lack of personal interest or negativity regardless of how you explain the importance or significance to them. It doesn’t take rocket science to determine that in order to get the average Joe in the streets to participate in SILENT DOLLARS, we must bring it down to their level. This is not to demean the intelligence of people, but the average person does not have the intelligence or attitude to willingly participate in this PROTEST without a reason they can benefit from a celebratory and or personal standpoint. SILENT DOLLARS strategically combines all of these agendas to change the attitudes of the average Joe!

As mentioned in the plan, this event will mark the start of the African American Independence Day or BLACK INDEPENDENCE DAY. This is an obvious revelation because the two days SILENT DOLLARS will be in effect will be an actual demonstration of the independence of African American’s. And this –Our Independence Day will be celebrated every year on the date of JUNE 4th.

Choosing the right words and being explained in the proper manner is crucial to get your average individual in the streets or at home to agree and participate. In the business/ advertising/marketing world, KEYWORDS is used to sway consumer spending.  Remember, people in general are FOLLOWER’S not LEADER’S and once they see certain PEER’S, FAMILY MEMBERS & LEADER’S that will be participating and urging them to participate, they will gladly participate as a whole in creating a National Holiday for their personal Benefit/Agendas as well as our BENEFIT AS A WHOLE, where they will have the opportunity to take off work, party or celebrate in the form of outdoor events, cooking and praying at their choice of worship and enjoying bountiful feast’s with their family and friends-like they do on Christmas and Thanksgiving with this level of meaning behind it. This is the strategic and psychological result of MARKETING equaling FOLLOWING and or PEER PRESSURE!

For this to occur, we must create strategic marketing ads & leaflets that will cater to the different classes of African Americans to get the entire community to participate. JOBS, EDUCATION, THE KILLING OF INNOCENT CHILDREN IN THE STREETS and of course AFRICAN AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY – besides REPARATIONS are the KEY WORDS to use when targeting the different sectors & classes in our community.

If KEY WORDS are important, then KEY WORDS placed in the right order are more important! When targeting school children 15 – 17, STOP THE KILLING MUST BE PLACED FIRST. So the Schools will get the memo with those words first. For The Working class & unemployed from months to years, JOBS NOW must go first in their memos. For the Parents, EDUCATION must be the starting key word and so on. This is because, the first key-word in any message being sent is the most remembered and largely the most valued.
