  • Politics Is Like Hiring A Hitman
    by Scott Woods inPolitical on2020-08-13

For me, politics is like hiring a hitman. I have values and things I care about. I care enough about them to at least bother voting for 5 minutes every year for one issue or another. And because I care at least that much, I vote for people who align with the ability to realize the things I care about.

I believe our vote is the punctuation of our voice. Without that resounding exclamation mark, I believe our voices are just incoherent noise.

  • Living in a Black No-Man's Land
by Roger Madison Jr. inOur Community on2019-10-28

There are many narratives that define the Black experience in America in this 2nd decade of the 21st century. Our striving over the centuries of our sojourn in this nation is a tapestry of every human experience -- oppression, enslavement, forced assimilation, dehumanization, exclusion, segregation, isolation, struggle, perseverance, achievement, excellence, celebration, mourning, despair, progress, setbacks, lynching, assassination, genocide, terror, self-hatred, low esteem, pride,...

  • Fighting Racism
by Scott Woods inOur Community on2018-10-25

I had a boss who was racist. Not an outright bigot, of course; her toolbox was more subtle than most. We bumped heads a lot over inconsequential things. She frequently couldn’t keep my name out her mouth. Lot of gaslighting. You know…2018 style. I tried a lot of ways to combat or navigate her issues. None of them worked, and that’s saying a lot because I’m really good at fighting racism. But at the end of the day – every day – she was my boss, I had to deal with her, and that was that. Finally I...

A Transparent Proposal To US Governors:

December 21, 2010

Dear US Governors:

Allen Hydro Energy Company has a revenue generating proposal that could close your state’s budget deficit in 2011 and 2012 and provide a positive source of long term revenue.  See “States Continue to Feel Recession’s Impact” Article by written by Elizabeth McNichol, Phil Oliff and Nicholas Johnson  from the CEnter on Budget and Policy Priorities at this link: http://www.cbpp.org/cms/?fa=view&id=711

Allen Hydro Energy Corporation (AHEC) is a renewable energy startup company, founded 2009 in Columbus, Ohio by Charles E. Campbell. It had developed an innovative patent pending process for generating, distributing and selling large-scale hydroelectricity inside a 70-story building downtown in any major metropolitan city, without the use of a river, lake or dam.  AHEC will sell electricity for a flat price to residential, commercial and industrial customers for 50% less than what they currently pay.

AHEC is seeking a private-public partnership with US State to fund the construction and operation cost of 180 Million dollars.  We will not seek any state tax abatements.   In return, AHEC will provide your state and the city each with 25% of the revenue from each AHEC Generating Facility.  This collaboration will generate millions of dollars for your state and city and help close your project budget deficits.  AHEC’s generating process produces no CO2 gases, requires no new regulations and no long distance transmission line.  A partnership with AHEC will bring over 10,000 high paying direct and indirect jobs to your state by constructing each AHEC Generating Facility within 3 months.

Contact me to discuss this proposal, if you are interested.

Sincerely,

Charles E. Campbell, Founder & CEO
