IMAGINE ME
Women’s Empowerment Party
The “Imagine Me” Women’s Empowerment Party is for all women who face the challenges of career, finances, relationships, and other high pressure situations.
The purpose of this event is to raise proceeds for the Helen Delores scholarship for students majoring in Liberal Arts. The scholarship was created in memory of the founder’s grandmother who died of cancer in 1996. Helen Delores lived her life with timeless and simple ways of helping others. She inspired. She cared. She loved.
Her legacy continues through her scholarship and this event. The seminar is a retreat for women to celebrate each other and have a great time . . . it’s so fun we had to call it a party!
Our aim is to provide women with networking opportunities that will stimulate money management, investment strategies and motivation. The party is guaranteed to be memorable with music, thought provoking speakers, inspirational performances, valuable insights, and dazzling Asian-inspired cuisine from the caterers at the W.
The women are in for a special treat with featured guest, Christian Comedian,
Chinnitta Morris formerly known as ‘Chocolate’ as seen on BET’s Comic View! Our featured speaker for the evening is the phenomenal Asha Tyson, author of the #1 Bestseller, 'How I Retired at 26'.
Random door prizes will be given away hourly including trips and dinners for two!
Godiva chocolate is a complimentary gift every woman will receive at this premiere
party!
Wealth Empowerment will encourage women to accomplish more in their careers
and businesses:
• How To Take Advantage Of New Investment Opportunities
• How To Successfully Network and Market Your Business
• How To Negotiate A Higher Salary
Along with gift bags stuffed with goodies, everyone will take home action plans,

Politics Is Like Hiring A Hitman
For me, politics is like hiring a hitman. I have values and things I care about. I care enough about them to at least bother voting for 5 minutes every year for one issue or another. And because I care at least that much, I vote for people who align with the ability to realize the things I care about.

BLACK PROGRESS AMIDST SOCIAL CHAOS

Living in a Black No-Man's Land
There are many narratives that define the Black experience in America in this 2nd decade of the 21st century. Our striving over the centuries of our sojourn in this nation is a tapestry of every human experience -- oppression, enslavement, forced assimilation, dehumanization, exclusion, segregation, isolation, struggle, perseverance, achievement, excellence, celebration, mourning, despair, progress, setbacks, lynching, assassination, genocide, terror, self-hatred, low esteem, pride,...

Fighting Racism
I had a boss who was racist. Not an outright bigot, of course; her toolbox was more subtle than most. We bumped heads a lot over inconsequential things. She frequently couldn’t keep my name out her mouth. Lot of gaslighting. You know…2018 style. I tried a lot of ways to combat or navigate her issues. None of them worked, and that’s saying a lot because I’m really good at fighting racism. But at the end of the day – every day – she was my boss, I had to deal with her, and that was that. Finally I...
